Glenn Solomon is a graduate of Marlboro College and Northeastern University School of Law. He also has a graduate degree in Philosophy from the University of Ottawa in linguistic analysis and the philosophy of interpretation.

Solomon has worked in the employment law area for more than 20 years. For most of that time, he represented low and middle income workers in the private sector. He also has considerable experience working for management in the private and public sector. After graduating from law school, he worked as Clerk to a Justice of the Oregon Supreme Court.

In the late 1950s, Solomon's family moved from New England to Southern California. In the early 1960s, his father earned a living collecting scrap metal and rags, and by operating a produce stand from a panel truck. These experiences gave Solomon a first-hand understanding of the roles that race and class can play in the distribution of economic opportunity and directly influenced his career choices.

Solomon is married and has a son.
